Eriko
had her ballet education in Japan. In 1988 won the silver medal
at the National ballet competition in Tokyo.
After
dancing with Japan Ballet Association and Ohkura Ballet in Tokyo
as a soloist, in 1994 she joined Basler Ballett in Switzerland
under the direction of Youri Vamos. Following Vamos, in 1996
she has engaged with Ballett Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf
Germany where she has danced various leading roles as a principal,
such as: Anastasia in "Sleeping beauty -The last daughter
of the Czar"; Cinderella in "Cinderella"; Swanilda
in "Coppelia"; "Sacre du printemps" (all
choreography by Youri Vamos); Diana in "Silvia" (John
Neumeier); "A sort of
"(Mats Ek); "Kammer
ballet"(Hans van Manen); "Synphonie Fantastique"(Uwe
Scholz) and "Petite Mort" (Jiri Kylián), among
others.
As
a guest teacher, she has worked with the companies such as Deutsche
Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Staatsoper Hannover, Staatstheater
Nürnberg, Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, Theater Osnabrück,
Theater Nordhausen, (all in Germany) Göteborgs Operan Baletten
(Sweden), Les Ballets Trockadero de Montecarlo (U.S.A), and
others.
