The only String Sextet composed by Tchaikovsky
is a music filled with melodies, harmonies and enchanting rhythms;
inspired by the beautiful city of Florence. The score is so
lively and vigorous; it served as an impulse of energy that
has inspired Ángel Corella's first choreography for the
Corella Ballet.
Divided in four movements; the first
is an introduction to the city of Florence and it's history,
full of nerve and life; The second movement is peaceful and
quite, where a serene single ballerina is twisted and embraced
by seven male dancers, solid as the Florentine monuments; Third
movement is an impetuous burst of energy generated by a sole
male dancer circled by six female dancers who capture the cheerfulness
of the citizens of Florence, an energy that converges altogether
in a fourth movement: the whole Florentine splendour as a Ballet.
